NCC not bound to Kettle plan
The public uproar about the proposed Kettle 4-chlorodehydromethyltestosterone Island Bridge could have been avoided if residents had waited for the next phase of the study.
Marie Lemay, CEO of the National Capital Commission, told a Sun editorial board yesterday many of the concerns raised by Manor Park residents "are valid."
The NCC is waiting to hear from Ottawa city council on whether the assessment should include Lower Duck Island. Lemay said the NCC isn't bound by the city's decision, but its input will be considered by the board.

Even if the NCC goes ahead with the next phase with only the Kettle Island option on the table, it doesn't mean the NCC can't reverse its decision, said Lemay.
